Today was a travel day along the Burgeo Rd. to search for breeding habitat and Mourning Warblers.  I took some photos of the open tundra barrens along the way.  I found one Mourning Warbler singing as I was about to camp out for the night near the Victoria River.

I finished up recording songs of territorial males here in the area of Stephenville Crossing.  I am in the hotel processing the recordings and photos.  I have added a photo of breeding habitat and territory of males along Flat Bay Brook.  The birds were breeding in the same type of brush as yesterday but along the brook instead of roadside.  I am headed to Burgeo on 14 June, 2017.

I have been birding around Stephenville Crossing as well as recording male Mourning Warblers.  I have some photos of the famous Stephenville Crossing birding hotspots near the railroad bridge – one of the best birding areas in the province.
