McBride, British
Columbia
15 June 2013
It was a very successful but trying morning in McBride along
Mountain View Rd. where I recorded 15 males.
This town used to rely on logging as a major industry but the logging is
over and there is not a lot of disturbed habitat in the area anymore. The road is located along the Fraser River
and contained some of the best opportunities for recording. I came upon 3 Turkey Vultures perched on some
rocks near an old gravel pit and took some video. One bird stretched out its wings for a good
view of its classic field marks. I later
spent some time at Horseshoe Lake and took some video of waterfowl while eating
dinner.
